Wedding Favor Ideas

by Sarah Page

The one inescapable fact of wedding favors is that you need a box to hold your gifts in. You can go simple and use small paper bags or even purchase, in bulk, gift boxes to keep your favors in. Most typical, modern wedding favors use tulle material to keep their favors in.

Wedding favors are very creative and unique gifts for your guests. Make sure that the box that you wrap it in is appropriate for the material. For example, a glass gift box could be great for keeping edible gifts in.

There is an abundant amount of resources online in regards to unique ways to create wedding favors. If you are strapped for time and can not create your own, there is a wide selection of choice sites that sell wedding favor supplies as well as pre-made wedding favors. For examples, you can order candle plates online to add candles to your wedding favors.

There are many different ways to improvise when it comes to creating a wedding favor box. For instance, you can take a take-out Chinese box, decorate it, and use it. Many people use this rather absurd idea and it works great. If you decide to give wedding fortune cookies, then look no further for a better idea!

Besides using boxes, you can use plastic bags. You can buy small bags in bulk and decorate them to fit the wedding scenery. Add some soaps, candles and a thank you note and you have a great, modern wedding favor. You can even go with a more fresh look by using glass jars as your container.

If you are considering to offer flowers as a gift for your guests, why not put them in a small vase with a bow tied around it? Keep in mind that if they are real, then you need to have water to keep the flowers alive. This is just one example of how proper packaging should be in congruence with your gift items.

When you start to think about how many types of weddings there are throughout the world you soon realize that there are many. For couples that choose to have a more traditional wedding, often the style of the wedding is based off of the Victorian era, with the brides wearing Victorian wedding gowns and the rest of the wedding party in very formal wedding attire.

The Victorian gown is a classic design and this is one of the main reasons why it complimets a traditional wedding.

When most brides create a picture in their minds of the typical wedding they tend to see the dress being a Victorian style. It is fair to say that this style of dress is the one that is most closely associated with a traditional wedding. The design of these gowns usually centres around a long flowing skirt and tight fitted bodice.

Typical features of a Victorian wedding gown are an ornate bodice that usually has an intricate design of beading and sewing plus high lace collar that fastens around the neck of the bride. In addition to this there are numerous designs and sleeves from full length to half length that can complement the overall design.

Finding Victorian Wedding Gowns

Whenever an item of clothing is popular you tend to find that it can be found quite easily and Victorian wedding gowns are no different. Both major retailers and specialist bridal shops will stock a wide range of these styles of gowns because they are known as a best seller.

At these retail stores, brides can try on a number of dresses in different sizes to choose the perfect gown design for her special day. Some of these retailers also have an expert seamstress on staff to make any alterations to the dresses that the bride desires.

When alterations are needed it, more often than not, revolves around adjusting the bodice to make it tighter or taking up hemlines.

Whether the bride would like a traditional wedding or just would like a beautiful, classically styled wedding dress, Victorian wedding gowns can be the style that the bride dreams of. The popularity of Victorian wedding gowns is not surprising, as the gowns have been the perfect gowns for traditional weddings since the late 1800’s.
