Are There Free Divorce Records Online?

by Ben Jen

Statistically, about half the marriages in the country end up in divorce. That’s why it makes sense to be sure about your partner’s divorce background whenever engagement or marriage is on the horizon. It’s no trouble at all nowadays to run a quick free divorce record check on someone. Whether it’s for your self or on behalf of somebody else, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

A great deal of information can be derived from Divorce Records. They contain the personal particulars of the separating spouses and children such as names, ages and birth dates. Marriage date, place and even time and who performed the solemnization or ceremony may also be available. Financial information, custody, alimony, restraining orders, filing numbers, final decree and so forth, where applicable, are all key divorce records.

A divorce record search can also be used to determine the official marital status. This is important especially if someone is intending to remarry. In order to remarry, someone has to be legally divorced from the previous marriage to be eligible. Often, people fail to follow through on formalizing and legalizing their divorce, especially in cases when it was uncontested and a response was not filed. Also, only certified copies of the divorce certificate is acceptable in most cases, thus entailing a longer waiting time in the application of the divorce records.

Divorce records are legislated as one of the public vital records. As such, anybody’s divorce records are rightfully accessible by anyone as long as procedures are followed. They can be requested in person, by mail, telephone, fax or online through the internet at the responsible government agency tasked with the function. Of all the options available, the online method is by far the most popular way to retrieve divorce records.

There are basically two versions of online divorce records. The first version is the free-of-charge (FOC) version which is obtainable from government sources and, to some degree, commercial providers as promotions or enticements. Such online divorce records will just about suffice for exploratory and other casual purposes. The second version is the fee-based one from commercial information brokers. It is recommended when the search is more purposeful, especially when it’s serious or formal. It is also generally of higher standards and unlike public sources which tend to be disparate and non- standardized, come with plug-and-play readiness.

Fee-based online divorce records are abundantly available on the internet. There are very good value-for-money to be found if you incur a little patience to shop around a little bit. Competition is keen so fees are really reasonable. Another approach is to check out the various review sites. The top-tier ones are typically very professional in their reviews and recommendations. They do get their cut from the referrals but they have also to put in their due diligence for that.

9 Spring Wedding Favors that Symbolize the Love for Life

by Chrissy Defour

In Spring the Earth comes alive again. What better season of the year to hold your wedding? Naturally, you’ll want your spring wedding favors to have that same spirit: full of enthusiasm for the coming warmth, filled with life and the joy it brings.

Spring is a time of perfect harmony between practicality and beauty. Show that in your wedding favor selections.

Show your own harmony by giving out a dainty set of salt and pepper shakers that look exactly like two peas in a pod. They make great decorative items during your reception and will be very useful on your guest’s dinner table.

Flowers abound in spring. Fill your reception hall with all sorts of flowers and carry on the theme in your spring wedding favors.

Wine bottle stoppers are popular as wedding favors. Tie in the spring theme by choosing a calla lily design. You can give a pair and put them in a box that resembles a miniature planter. As an accent to your spring wedding favor package, use a rope-like ribbon to support the stems.

Pictures of fragrant roses, orchids and lilies, sights of beautiful gardens, tin pails, and watering cans come to mind when we think of spring. Keep this in mind or write them down on a notebook as you are brainstorming on how you can incorporate these elements of spring in your spring wedding favors.

Guests will always appreciate floral-scented candles that continue exuding sweetness even after your wedding day. Rose garden candles will endear you to the recipients. Alternatively, you can get small vases to hold real flowers and present them as your spring wedding favors. Or, get little bottles and fill them with essential oil which your guests can add to their baths.

Other than plants, animals too become more active during springtime. You can draw from this nature fact for some creative ideas when planning for your spring wedding favors.

Dove-shaped glass tealights will cause your guests to swoon with love as you did. Use the colors of Spring – delicate greens, bright blue, subtle pink – to add color to the table and the gift. Select some votives to go with them and add a delicate aroma that speaks of love awakening.

You can also have fun while choosing your wedding favors. Pick place card holders that are not only functional but will also tickle your guests. A practical choice would be garden party flip flops. They can lead the guests to their assigned seats. Be sure to get them in bright, different colors. Your guests can use them later at home to hold bills or photos.

Glass coasters are elegant, stylish and timeless, and make for great spring wedding favors. Pick your design carefully, taking care that they go well with your spring theme wedding. To personalize the glass coasters, just have your names engraved and also the date of the wedding. This serves with a dual purpose of keeping the tabletop clean and a memorabilia.

As spring is a season of rebirth, you and your partner are also taking a new path. Start it with a celebration with your loved ones and imparting with them spring wedding favors that serve as a token of your happiness and joy.

Adding Style To A Wedding

by Kathy Milligan

Every couple wants their wedding day to be a special day to remember. That is why people tend to go all-out to make the occasion so grand. There are the major aspects of the wedding such as the dress, venue, music, food, and flowers that will all make the wedding memorable, but it is often the smaller details that can make a wedding truly spectacular.

At your chosen reception venue, your coordinator will discuss color schemes with you for your tables. Unless you have a color in mind, they will often advise you go with either white or cream tablecloths and napkins, as these are neutral colors. Most brides today do have an idea for their own color schemes. It may be possible that the venue may supply the bride’s color, but in the event that that is not possible, table linen can be rented in all shades from a seperate source. By ensuring that the tablecloths and napkins match, you will create a definite air of elegance to the reception hall. One thing that most people wouldn’t notice, but will if it is there, is to add chair covers. They can be in either a matching or complimentary color and will definitely tie in the whole room in with the rest of the wedding color scheme.

Traditionally, you will have water goblets placed on the tables. An inexpensive addition would be to add a lemon wheel to every glass. When it comes to the champagne toast, ensure that there is a fresh strawberry added. Both of these small additions will make the drinks look and taste fantastic. It will also impress the guests that you have spent much thought into the little things whilst planning.

One of the best parts of the wedding reception is the food. People look forward to having the delicious, and often expensive, food that comes out at a wedding. Surprise the guests with some little extras that come before and after dinner. It is becoming popular to offer a drink fountain during the cocktail hour. Traditionally, these drinks are often a single type of liquor mixed with either juice or soda. Mix it up a bit by offering something fancier such as a margarita fountain. It is also becoming popular to offer a pasta station during the cocktail hour. This is a small table set with a server, offering two or three different pastas with two or three different sauces. It is a great way to stave off the hunger before dinner is served. After dinner, consider offering a coffee buffet rather than straight coffee or decaf. These additions are not terribly expensive, but all the guests will remember them.

To create a totally chic look for your wedding set the stage with any or all of the special extras. You may even have other ideas that will set your wedding apart from all the others.

Marriage License Search Online

by Ben Jen

Marriage is much more serious than it’s treated by many. In the US, the state steps in to help make the point. Like other cosmopolitan environments, there are variations among the ethnic and religious groups in joining people in matrimony. The requirements can also differ from state to state but people other than the couple are always involved. Yes, there will be a conducting official. Legal witnesses of the ceremony are also required in certain states. Even God and deceased ancestors may also be involved by religious and customary practices.

Rejection and protest from certain religious groups or beliefs notwithstanding, it is mandated by law that a marriage can only legally proceed after a Marriage License has been obtained from the state authorities. The requisites for application are typically age, identity, residency, medical examinations and clearance from any previous marriages if any. They can be issued by the state of residence of the couple or where the marriage ceremony is planned to be officially conducted. Fees are usually nominal but lead time can be long, up to a month in some states. After the ceremony, the license is then signed off by the new couple and the official to file for certification and the issuance of the Marriage Certificate.

Both the license and certificate are then entered as marriage records into the respective files of the new spouses. They will then be maintained as public records at the county or state where the marriage has taken place, whichever is the prevailing practice. Being public records, they will be subject to public retrieval and search as long as procedures are complied with and fees are paid.

Same-sex, or gay marriages are a little bit trickier. They are recognized in less than half the states. A handful others are fuzzy about it, recognizing them as legal union and offering explicit marriage rights and responsibilities while not calling them marriages. Be prepared for some surprises with such states.

There are basically two types of service we can turn to for marriage license or record search, the free public offices and the paid providers. Free services tend to be discrete and scattered so it can be quite time-consuming and tedious. Paid versions come at different levels of professionalism. The better rated ones can deliver very comprehensive reports. Over and above public resources, many have access to private and privileged databases.

Conducting public marriage records search is often contentious. Except for super-snoops, people have better things to do than prying others’ private lives. It is usually done on those who are more than acquaintance, and ironically with whom we relate with fondness. Inherently, it infringes the expectation of trust. Tussle between the sense and the feelings, there is never an outright correct answer.

Fun Food For The Bridal Shower

by Sarah Roberts

When planning food for a bridal shower, there are plenty of things that you can serve. Likewise, there are some things that should be avoided. The center of attraction is obviously the bride. So find out what she likes best and what she doesn’t like. Refrain from serving foods that can trigger off allergies. Ask the guests if they have any food allergies or special diets so they can be omitted.

This is where the fun comes in. You will already have chosen a theme for the bridal shower. Try and fit some tasty dishes around it. Having a brunch party is a great idea. If you hold it on a Sunday it can stretch into a lovely, long, lazy afternoon. Try to make it informal as this will encourage guests to mingle more. In a corner you can have a table serving fresh breads and another table with fresh fruits. One good idea is to serve mini quiche. On one side of the room you could have your drinks table serving punch and cocktails. Remember to also serve fruit juices and coffee, too. Fruit based desserts are always popular. Some chocolate coated strawberries or lemon squares could go down well.

If an evening shower is preferable, then a casserole is perfect. You can mingle whilst it is cooking. Better still. a casserole can be prepared beforehand. All you need to do is to heat and serve. Another idea is lasagna, served up with a bowl of green salad. Food like this is great for an evening do as it can be made up earlier in the day. It means you’re not stuck in the kitchen as your guests arrrive. If that is too heavy a meal then a smoked or grilled dish can be served. It only takes an occasional peek in the kitchen whilst it is cooking.

Do try and find out before the party if anyone is a vegan or a vegetarian so that you can serve up food to suit them too. For a casserole or lasagna, all you need to do is make a vegetarian option as well and you could also check the Internet for recipes.

Cake is traditionally served as a dessert at a bridal shower. Many people today though are moving away from tradition so feel free to break away and have something different as a dessert. You could consider offering pies or fresh fruit. What about a chocolate fountain as a centerpiece. These can be easily rented for the evening.

If you prefer something light like finger food, you could do that too and have a table that is filled with light bites so people can just pick them up and walk around, talking to others. You could serve up things like crackers and cheese, dips with tiny muffins and the like.

The choice is yours – and of course the bride’s but choosing the food well could mean a great bridal or wedding shower.
