For the bridal couple there is nothing more important than their wedding vows, so a great deal of thought need to be put into this. Take some time to research all there is to know about wedding vows so that you are able to choose all the ideas that best convey your pesonal feelings.

What are Wedding Vows?

Wedding vows are words that are spoken at a wedding to your spouse to be, either repeated after a priest, or reading your own wedding vows that you have written. They are what truly makes the wedding what it is, as you are making a promise to another for the rest of your life.

Basically you have two choices here. You can either write and read your own vows to your partner, or you can have the conventional version, which means that the priest will say them and then you repeat it after them.

Writing your own vows is a great idea because it makes it much more personal, and you are able to write down exactly how you feel and then express it to the person that you love on the most special day of your life. Just make sure that they are heartfelt and your true feelings, and it will make your wedding occasion even more special.

If at any point you feel as though you need help writing your own vows, then know that there are many people that are qualified and capable of helping you, Don’t hesitate to take full advantage of this if you so need it.

Also, you may want to write your vows in private, away from your partner, so that when the wedding day actually does arrive, it is a surprise to them and will mean that much more.

Just because you don’t want to write your own vows does not mean that there is anything wrong. In fact most people choose to go this route, either for the sake of tradition, or perhaps because they already have enough to think about and arrange, and want to keep their wedding vows simple.
