The Benefits Of Off-Season Wedding Receptions

Most brides rush to book their weddings during the peak summer months because they want at least some part of their ceremony to be outside, even if its just pictures. Because of this there’s a rush to get the best of everything, because there are only so many venues, photographers and vendors to create your perfect wedding.

Venues aren’t the only over-taxed segment of the wedding industry during the summer. Vendors, photographers and wedding planners are filling their calendars the fall or winter before.

You should give as much consideration to where you want to have your wedding as you do to when you want to have your wedding. If summer is what you want, consider warmer states like Arizona, Florida and other southern states. With misters, you can still have a portion of the day outside, maybe cocktail hour. If you are set on a place but don’t care about the season, start calling around to find out when their busy season starts and ends and book around it.

People are a lot more flexible as far as costs during the off-season. Most people associated with the wedding industry bank on making their money during the summer. Anything after that is a bonus, which is why you can bargain more if you are offering them a job when they have little else going on. Flowers can incorporate the season, or you can use year-round flowers to create a summer feel in spring or fall.

If you looking for sales on wedding dresses, a good time to shop is right before stores stock up for their busy seasons. New fashions come out in the spring and fall, so stores need to clear out their existing inventory to make way for new dresses. Dresses that are going out of production can also be had at bargain prices.

Your variety of wedding dresses may be a little more limited at these times of years, as companies won’t stock up on older styles once the summer rush has passed. Most places ask for several months in order to hand-make the dress to your size. Be sure you allow enough time to get what you want and have it fitted properly. Rush options may be available.

If you have a lot of people flying in from all over the country or world, keep an eye on airfare to see when prices seem to drop. Be sure to let your guests know if you’ve found a great fare so they can book it. Weddings aren’t just costly for you; they can also be expensive for your guests.

If you want to cut your budget but still have the perfect venue, then consider an off-season wedding. You have more flexibility and more options to make your day as fabulous as it should be.
