Enjoying a Caribbean Cruise with your Kids

by Heather Diller

It is understandable for family vacationers to get tired of the common and usual vacation getaways. If you are looking for a new place for a vacation getaway where you can see new places, explore new sites and enjoy fun activities, with you not boring your kids or vice, versa, then you might consider taking on a Caribbean cruise. Your kids may just enjoy the opportunity for fun, discovery, and exploration along with lots of water and sun.

You do not need to worry about activities for your family when you are in the Caribbean cruise tours. Many things would attract you in the Caribbean islands. Every time the cruise ship docks to a port, you will have a lot of opportunity to explore the tourist attractions on the island and participate long enough in activities.

The various Southern Caribbean ports are popular for families who are interested in exclusive exploration. In these parts, you would not have to crowd along with too many people, as compared to the cruises for Eastern and Western Caribbean.

Your kids would just gush over to amazing sights of waterfalls, white sand shorelines and mysterious caves. The Southern Caribbean include docking into the ports of Antigua, Curacao, Dominica, St. Kitts, Puerto Rico and Sta. Lucia and explorations on the popular tourist destinations in these places. You need not worry about spending too much. Caribbean cruises are affordable enough and very convenient for family affairs.

If you are traveling with your children, you can take them to Nelson’s Dockyard National Park where you can find the Dockyard Museum, the Blockhouse and the Shirley Heights Lookout.

Nothing compares to the exhilarating and amazing hike along the national park trails full of breathtaking scenes and gorgeous vistas. Do not pass up the opportunity to have your kids see the Betty’s Hope where they can learn sugar cane harvesting. The Caribbean cruises may include rented jeep rides to go there for a day.

Meanwhile, if you are interested in extreme water sports, then why not head out to Aruba for its open beaches and surfing spots? You just need to spend a minimum of 12 dollars from the port going to these areas, using a taxi. In the Oranjested main street, you might take an interest in the Atlantis semi-submarines. A ride into one of these would greatly amuse your kids to no end. It would be one of the greatest adventures of their lifetime.
